Abstract: Opinionated Security
The goal with using machine learning in the security space has traditionally been one of trying to determine if someone has infiltrated your systems based on behaviors as observed in log files. In this talk I present where these approaches have been used – both successfully and not so successfully – as well as some of the most common problems encountered when trying to integrate analytics techniques into the security space. I posit that the ultimate goal is opinionated security and describe one approach being developed towards achieving this goal for cloud-based applications.
